 The Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager based in Canberra to lead HR strategy, recruitment (internal & external), and to oversee HR processes and systems. You’ll play a key role in shaping our people culture, ensuring compliance, driving performance, and helping Willyama scale its talented workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full‑cycle recruitment: developing job descriptions, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selecting both internal and external candidates.
  • Manage and refine HR systems and processes, ensuring smooth onboarding, performance review, learning & development, talent management.
  • Use and administer HR software, with strong experience in Employment Hero.
  • Provide guidance and support to leadership and team members on HR policies, employment law, compliance, and best practice.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting and HR metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies for employee engagement, retention, and culture.

 Requirements

  • HR qualification (e.g. Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or equivalent); relevant postgraduate qualification a plus.
  • Proven experience in HR management and recruitment, ideally in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, employment legislation, and modern awards – particularly the Professional Employees Award and Clerks – Private Sector Award
  • Experience using Employment Hero
  • Excellent interpersonal, advisory, and conflict resolution skills
  • High attention to detail, strong organisation and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality

Salary Range:

$115,000 – $135,000 per year
